I don’t know if the book will be decorated with photos of the author... In any case, you should know that he was endowed by the Creator with impressive dimensions… So it is a wonder that a man of such dimensions can hide that tenderness and sympathy for his characters. Apparently he loves them en masse, and he loves them one by one too. And this fact affects my bifocals. Shinov’s stories were written because it's sad that people live in this sad way. And because it would be better if they were a little happier, don’t you think so? Perhaps his characters don’t realize they inhabit a "good in both senses”, talented, smart, expertly written book, full of hidden humanity and compassion.

Chavdar Stoev Shinov was born in Sofia in 1941, graduated from the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski ". He is the author of more than thirty books: collections of short stories and feuilletons, the comedy "Late Summer Apache", the novel "To Love Stubbornly", plays and books for children. He is winner of national and international awards, including the national "Hristo G. Danov" award. His works are translated into Russian, Polish, Czech, German and Serbo-Croatian.
