How Did I Not Buy This Painting?!

This book is a unique panorama of gallery life in Sofia at the border between the 20th and 21st centuries. For nearly twenty years, the author recorded in notebooks and diaries what he heard, saw and experienced in the "Natalie" gallery. The subtitle - "Sketches from the gallery" reveals the genre: "drawings" made from nature. The texts resemble narratives overflowing into essays and include conversations with artists, observations, letters, poems... The characters are dozens of contemporary Bulgarian artists and connoisseurs. Incidents from the lives of world artists have been added to the stories, as well as references to literature and other arts.

Written by a true art connoisseur, How Did I Not Buy This Painting?! is a funny read and will be of interest to anyone who loves art.
