When the daughter started making a documentary about her Bulgarian roots, the mother had no idea to what extent this kind of investigation would affect her. At the daughter's insistence, the mother applied to the Dossier Commission in Bulgaria to find out if she had been kept under observation during the communist regime when she was in contact with foreigners as an interpreter.
The Commission's response is unexpected and shocking. Within a sharp conflict between the generations, the mother and the daughter - each in her own way and with different means of expression - get in search of the truths of the past, and in this breathless persecution the ghosts of communism are resurrected.
