"Folklore Myths and Legends" retell in accessible language works of Bulgarian folk art, related to real historical figures, folk beliefs about the origin of life on earth, the struggle between good and evil, mythical creatures that inhabit the world along with man. Most of these works have been shortened and edited to be understandable to the modern reader. The book helps teachers and students at the beginning of the junior high school educational stage, when the program studies and comments on texts specific to the mythological and folklore model of the world.
Folklore texts are accompanied by a section What do we know today?, which allows for a comparison between literary and scientific text, between beliefs and knowledge.
