The development of logical-mathematical intelligence is key to our lives. Numbers, logic, patterns… They are present in our lives and we use them every day. And how nice it would be if we could have fun with the practical application of mathematics!
This is exactly the purpose of this book: to make mathematics an attractive subject, to make it affordable. This is a collection of mathematical and logical games designed for children from 6 to over 10 years, and each game has an indication of who it is intended for. These over a hundred games are divided into five sections:
- Mathematics and numerical intelligence
- Logic and speed of mind
- Strategy and spatial structure
- Observation and memory
- Communication and verbal intelligence
The aim of the games is for children to stop being afraid of mathematics and at the same time to work on their logical-mathematical culture, both inside and outside the classroom. This is a necessary book for those teachers, families, educators who can dedicate time to improve the logical and mathematical skills of the little ones or just have a good time while playing and having fun with math together!
Jorge Batllori is a Doctor of Geology at the University of Barcelona, holds a Master’s degree in Engineering and Environmental Management and is an Environment Teacher. He has given courses for directors and leisure supervisors and has participated in a variety of seminars about the importance of play and its educative possibilities, a topic to which several of his publications are dedicated. He has collaborated with Catalunya Ràdio on El Suplement, a programme which attracts a large number of listeners, where he presented his Jocs Mentals.
