This collection is published on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great Bulgarian poet Leda Mileva. It contains some of the most beloved poems and tales in Bulgarian children's literature, illustrated by the artist Nevena Angelova.
Leda Geo Mileva is a Bulgarian poet, translator, children's teacher, public figure of art and culture, diplomat. Born in Sofia in 1920, she is the author of more than 30 collections of poems for children, translated into English, French, German, Russian, Polish and other languages. In 1960-1980, she was the vice-chairman and chairman of the Bulgarian PEN club. From 1979 to 1989, she was the chairman of the Union of Translators in Bulgaria, the creator of the magazine for foreign literature "Panorama" and its editor-in-chief from 1980 to 1991. In 2008, she was awarded the "Konstantin Konstantinov" national award for overall contribution to children's book publishing.
She died on her birthday, February 5th, in 2013.
