"Bulgarian Roses" is a dark, mysteriously criminal, relentless novel that immerses readers in Bulgarian atmosphere since the beginning of the XXI century. Violence, misappropriation of funds and identities, battles for power. This is a story about the fate of intellectuals in the ruthless world of the strong, brutal and rich people; a story for the collapse of illusion of innocence. It is also a story for an unattainable love and betrayal in the name of success, fame and money. The author challenges several generations, and makes a grim prediction about a future of terror and political revenge and poses an ominous rising question: What will happen to the children?
Georgi Tenev is a writer, screenwriter and playwright. He is the author of the novels "Party Headquarters" (Best Bulgarian Novel of the Year of VIK Foundation, 2007), "Christo and the Free Love," "Mr. M", "Bulgarian Roses", "Balkan Ritual" and the short story collections "Holy Light" (awarded a scholarship for translation of PEN American center) and "The Writer's Woman".
