Maya Dalgacheva (b. 1967) is a Bulgarian writer, best known as an author of children's books. Her works have been translated into English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Serbian and are featured in a number of poetry anthologies in Bulgaria and abroad, as well as in textbooks, collections and aids for preschool and elementary age.
She is the winner of numerous awards, including the "Golden Age" award of the Ministry of Culture (2006), the award of the Union of Bulgarian Writers for Children's Literature (2009), the National Award for Children's Literature "Konstantin Konstantinov" in the "Author" category (2009 ), the "Petya Karakoleva" National Award for Children's Literature for her book "Tales from That Forest" (2013) and the "Hristo G. Danov" award in the "Children's Edition" category (2022).
