Provoked by the pedagogical model of Maria Montessori, Marie-Helene Place (p. 1961) has devoted herself to its promotion. Along with practising her profession of fashion stylist, she writes children's books corresponding to the basic principles of Montessori philosophy - encouraging the development of the child and respect for children as complex human beings. Her books have been translated in many countries.
