Transformations. The Hidden Art of Christo and Jeanne-Claude
No galleries, no agents and no sponsors. In order to give life to their art, they were a step away from bankruptcy many times. They managed to reconcile two historic enemies - Jacques Chirac and Francois Mitterrand. Over half a century Christo and Jeanne-Claude were an iron couple in work and in life. They accomplish a revolution in the world of art through their exceptional installations, "packing" monuments and sites, and their works actually reveal the true meaning of objects. This book tells the story of their artistic way from the point of view of their adherents, with whose support Christo and Jeanne-Claude manage to realize their visionary projects on four continents.
