Characteristics

Compared with "Da Vinci Code" by its response, "The Messiah's Gate" is a richly documented detective story with an unusual storyline, devoted to the genesis of the sacred book of Muslims.
The thirty-year-old theologian Simon Lange, secluded himself in Tibet in search of peace and enlightenment, later finds himself in a maelstrom of events connected not only with his own origin, but also with the origins of the Koran. The unexpected death of his parents, who turned out to be his adoptive parents, as well as the unknown pursuers who want his death, force him to seek after the reasons for what is happening.
The message of the novel is in the words of one of the characters, Professor Pogel: "I don't challenge the faith of people, nor the positive impact it might have on them. I challenge its pernicious effects when used for political purposes."
