In his autobiography "The Virgin Prostitute", Nikolay Volev describes the vicissitudes of his life with remorseless honesty. He also tells about his first and later love affections. Among the adventures he experienced, were the pseudo-cooperation with the State Security, escaping to UK, marrying an Englishwoman, returning to Bulgaria. His creative biography includes documentaries and feature films that have attracted millions of viewers in Bulgaria and abroad. Among them are "The Double," "Mister for a Day", "House No. 8", "To Love Obstinately", "Margarit and Margarita".
Nikolay Volev

Famous Bulgarian director, screenwriter, actor and producer, Nikolay Volev was born in Sofia on April 10, 1946. He studied Architecture between 1967-68. In 1968 he left Bulgaria without permission from the respective authorities. After a stay in a refugee camp in Turkey, he escaped to England where he graduated from The London Film School (1969-1972).
