I never thought I would finish this manuscript, and I never thought it may even become a book. It have survived miraculously. I started it 50 years ago in an immigration camp near Vienna. I left behind some questions and answers. Perhaps I realized that one day I will return to them again. Later, when I was in America, I continued writing - I tried to explain what had happened...
I have always thought my life is unique, and I wanted to live it my way (then and now - after half a century) without being forced to do something I don't want. That's why - here in Bulgaria, I decided to revive my memories, experiences, challenges, flights and downs, and most importantly - my everlasting thirst for discoveries and victories.
I don't feel guilty about anything.
I wanted to fly and to achieve my dream.
I did it, but during the years in America, and later on, I have realized the price. I don't mean the financial price but the price that couldn't be paid through banks ...

Luben Rabchev was born in 1942 in Byala Cherkva, Tarnovo. In 1968 he emigrated to the US and there he started successful business. He returned to Bulgaria after half a century and founded a historic wine-hotel complex called "Seven Generations" in Mechka, on the banks of the Danube.
