Sunflower Children
How long is the photo tape that connects two people? How many photos are needed to fit a love destined to travel the distance between two continents, a long-kept secret, the melody of a violin with a mission, and a few pieces of paper on which four high school students once wrote down their prophecies?
"This is a novel about the life we remember from the last few decades, an account of people we seem to have met, of events as we have experienced them. It follows the growth of a girl from a small provincial town, but this development reflects the changes that have occurred in the entire Bulgarian society. We can call it by the familiar name Bildungsroman, but in the personal growth of the heroine we recognize our own, those excitements and problems that have built the psychology of several generations. Kristina Terziiska has a well-crafted style, clean and orderly narration, highly infectious in emotional terms. Her autofiction creates the illusion of a genuinely shared, deeply intimate reality.” - Prof. Milena Kirova
