The Will of The Many
Welcome to the Academy of Catena, the place where the elite of the Hierarchy are educated.
AUDI. VIDE. TACE. LISTEN. WATCH. THINK.
The Republic of Catena - the Hierarchy - may rule the world, but it doesn't know everything.
I tell them my name is Vis Telim. I tell them that after a tragic accident, I was orphaned and only luck brought me to their most prestigious school. I tell them that once I graduate, I will willingly join their civilized society and agree to have their strength and energy - what they call Will - sapped and added to the power of those above me, as millions already do. As all must do sooner or later.
I tell them I belong here - and they believe me.
But the truth is, I was sent to the Academy to find answers. To investigate a murder. To look for an ancient weapon. To uncover secrets that could destroy the Republic.
And I will never, ever surrender my Will to the power that destroyed my family.
I am willing to do anything to survive. I will rise in the ranks of the Academy. I will smile, I will make friends, I will pretend to be one of them - and I will win. Because if I fail, those who want to control me and know my true name will no longer need me.
And if the Hierarchy finds out who I really am, they will kill me.
