Characteristics

In our fast-paced and neurotic modern world, a young man named Loris finds himself at a crossroads between his childhood memories and the surrounding world of adulthood, where he feels misunderstood and rejected. A sensitive and introverted child, he spends his vacations and weekends in the countryside with his grandfather Tempesta, to whom he is very attached. But childhood comes to an end and Loris continues on his path through the years, finding a girlfriend whom he nicknames Jo, renting a small apartment in a picturesque Roman neighborhood, starting work as an intern at a publishing house... However, things do not go as he would like. And then the pain appears. Inexplicable and intense. He suspects that he is suffering from an incurable disease, but no one believes him except an imaginary creature named Catastrophe, which takes various forms: a dove, a cat, a wolf, a fish, and fills the space around him. The disease that Loris fears becomes the main character in this insightful book. But is it only in this book?
