Characteristics

This is the story of an exceptional woman, Ada Byron, who felt more comfortable among numbers, fairies and fauns, than in the tight corset of everyday reality. F. G. Haghenbeck presents us with a fascinating portrait of this complex, vibrant and little-known character. With an agile and precise style, he introduces us to the world of a wonderful mind, capable of combining the rigor of mathematical thought with magical and poetic creativity.

Mathematics for Fairies is a novel about a woman's passion - the feeling that we discover in every facet of life. Especially in the numbers that govern our world full of mysteries. It is the life of one of the most wonderful women of modern times, the daughter of the poet Lord Byron: Ada Byron, part of English royalty and brilliant mathematical genius who designed the programs for the first computer in history. But it is also the narration of a stormy woman from the 19th century, who had an intense relationship with her famous parents; lover of Charles Dickens and the gambler John Crosse, who lived a life full of dramatic moments.

All of these stories weave the life of Ada Augusta Byron, Countess of Lovelace: The Enchantress of Numbers.
