Memories
The protagonist of "Memories" dreams of becoming a writer, to meet the great love, to live a life full of adventures. After the death of his grandfather, he realizes that he failed to tell him how much he loved him. Describing the complex situations in which the main character gets into, the author draws us into his reflections about life convulsions, the passage of time, love and relationships between generations. His personal memories are intertwined with memories of ordinary people and well-known personalities such as Nietzsche, Alzheimer, Van Gogh and Gaudi. All this allows him to finally proceed with the writing of his novel.
With gentle humor and a lot of tenderness, using original poetic language, David Foenkinos offers us an exciting story about the relationships in the modern world, and also about the past, continuity and human affection.
