On Translation
"On Translation" is not a standard book on the theory of translation. It doesn't discuss its philosophical aspects and doesn't put the question whether it is possible. It aims at shedding light on specific and topical areas of interest in the endless field of translation. Some of the most influential voices of Italian academic and professional community are involved in this extramural discussion in the context of the problem of world literature today and interaction between languages - mostly Italian and Bulgarian. But the translation topic is also subject of the exchange in a broad sense and incorporates all who are interested in registers and aging of the text, in translating realia and dialects, in the dangers of word for word translation and editorial obsessions: without prescriptions, but with plenty of good and not so good practices that could serve as a guide.
