A Demonstration of “Parent Effectiveness Training” (PET) by Dr. Thomas Gordon - Open to the Public in Varna!

We are pleased to invite you to the first demonstration, open to the public in Bulgaria, of the practical programme “Parent Effectiveness Training” (PET) by Dr. Thomas Gordon, author of the book of the same name, published by Colibri.

The presentation will be held on July 5^th at 6 p.m. in Radio Varna Art Saloon, 22 Primorski Blvd.

Darina Georgieva will launch the event; being a representative of Gordon Training International Institute in Bulgaria, Darina will “introduce” the author Dr. Thomas Gordon (1918-2002) to the guests: he’d been nominated three times for the Nobel Peace Prize; he’d been awarded a golden medal of the American Psychologists’ Foundation; and, of course, he remains the founder of Gordon Training International.

Mariana Schmit is the Bulgarian coordinator of “Parent Effectiveness Training” (PET) and she will speak in detail on the subject: “How to learn resolving parent-child conflicts?”

Galina Germanova will answer the question: “What should the parents do when the penalties are not effective?” Galina will explain one of the key Dr. Gordon’s theses: “Children are not naughty, romping and raising problems,  their behavior is just a way of satisfying needs”.

We’ll be able to learn more about: the active listening, how “an effective parent” acts like, which are the twelve barriers to communicaton.

Certified PET instructors will make demonstrations before the public.

This unique presentation will be useful to all present and future parents as well as to everyone who is interested in the relationships “parent-child”.
