Maria Venturi (Florence, 1 August 1933) is an Italian writer and journalist. She lives in Brescia where her writing career began. Only at 17 she won her first literature prize with a collection of poetry. At 24 she sent a narrative to the editor Einaudi. The response was personally from Italo Calvino who encouraged her to continue writing.
Venturi graduated Antique Literature. And she says she prefers being rather a writer than a journalist. Her novels, bestsellers almost all of them, often turn into television scenaries at huge success.
